Our Around Town has quickly become one of our more popular group classes. It is a fun class that takes training out into the real world and is our equivalent to an intermediate training class. This class is held in different public locations in the Peru/Ottawa area on Saturday mornings. Times can vary slightly due to location but usually we meet around 11am. Each session lasts about 30-45 minutes.
This class has open enrollment for your scheduling convenience. Please contact us to get started.
Sessions are sold as follows:
-1 Session for $25
-3 sessions for $65, expire after 2 months
-6 sessions for $99, expire after 4 months
This class is designed to be flexible. You can always add more sessions for more practice and can skip a week without missing out on anything too. Exercises will vary and be accustomed to each individual dog’s skill level. Some of the things we work on in this class include skills for all levels of the AKC Canine Good Citizen Series, proofing skills around distractions, remaining calm in new environments, socialization, and confidence building. We sometimes even add in some training games and fun activities like Parkor!
-Completed basic obedience with us or at another facility or have an equivalent understanding of basic obedience cues (sit, down, stay, leave it, come, focus, and loose leash walking). Skills do not need to be perfect but in order to succeed in this class some prior understanding is needed.
– Up to date vaccinations or titer test within the last 12 months.
– Dogs should be dog and people friendly as they will be in public places where dogs, kids, and adults are present.
– Same general rules as our group classes. No prong/choke/shock/slip collars. Leashes should be 4-6 ft and the proper strength for your dog. Please no flexi leashes.
Number of dogs per session would be limited as well if needed. This means new enrollment may be closed periodically.
